Exemplification from minutes of Superior Court, Columbia County
Upon motion in open court it is ordered that the Negro slave Thaddeus the property of William A. L. Collins now confined in the jail of Columbia County be allowed bail upon the said Collins giving bond & security in the sum of ten thousand dollars the same being the double estimated value of said slave. It is further ordered that the affidavits plead in support of the motion be filed by the clerk in his office.
